Marsh View is a cottage that earns its name. Set within Mocketts Farm on The Harty Estate, its long, considered footprint and perfectly positioned windows make the most of the surrounding landscape at every turn.
Inside, stone-flagged floors, exposed beams and warm woods create a rustic, characterful feel. Cosy yet open, it’s a natural fit for families, mixed generations, or a group of friends who appreciate the slow pace of the Kent countryside....
Inside Marsh View
The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully equipped for a relaxed self-catering stay – including that all-important dishwasher – with a dining table that seats eight comfortably. The lounge sits separately, a quiet space to settle into with comfy sofas around a smart TV, with views over the duck pond at the front.
On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms. One is an ensuite family room with a double and two single beds. The other is a double room with an accessible wet room, makineg Marsh View a practical and comfortable choice for multigenerational groups or guests with mobility needs. Upstairs, two further bedrooms can each be made up as doubles or twins and share a bathroom.
Outdoor Living
Step out to the terrace at the front and you’re looking straight over the Mocketts Farm duck pond – a perfect spot for a morning coffee. At the rear, the enclosed garden has wide, field views, where birds of prey are frequent neighbours. With sun loungers, outdoor furniture and a BBQ fire pit and toasting marshmallows provided, there’s everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors.
The shared games room, complete with pool table, table tennis and foosball, is close by when the mood or weather calls for it.
Food at Marsh View
Marsh View is fully equipped for self-catering, and the kitchen lends itself to relaxed, unhurried cooking. When you’d rather step back from it, we can deliver brunch platters, grazing boards and tasty traybakes, made by our Harty Estate chefs with our own produce, family farm beef and the best of Kent’s ingredients.
We also host a select number of pop-up dining occasions nearby at The Harty Estate throughout the year. It’s worth checking the dates to see if one falls during your stay.
Dog Friendly
Dogs are very much welcome at Marsh View, with a special welcome pack waiting on arrival. They’ll have the run of enclosed rear garden – safe, quiet and with plenty to sniff. When that’s not enough, the estate’s two-acre exercise field is free to use throughout your stay, with agility equipment and proper fencing. Book a slot in advance.
Location
Marsh View certainly earns its name, sitting within one of Kent’s most quietly special rural landscapes. The Isle of Harty moves at its own pace – open skies, working farmland and wild wetland meadows beside the estuary.
Walking and cycling trails, such as the Isle of Harty Trail, the Kent Coastal Path and the Swale Nature Reserve are all within easy reach, along with the Blue Flag beaches at Leysdown and Shellness. Wider Kent is there for those who want to explore further afield.

Marsh View is one of five cottages at Mocketts Farm, set within The Harty Estate – a relaxed and tranquil setting that hosts weddings, private celebrations and corporate retreats. It can booked solo for a restorative country retreat, or in combination with the other cottages for a large group getaway.
