Inside Harrier’s Nest

The snug lounge catches the light through French doors that open onto the garden and look out across open farmland – a good spot for a slow morning or winding down after a day outdoors.

Across the hallway, the kitchen-diner has its own quietly pleasing outlook – the Mocketts Farm duck pond. Fully equipped for a relaxed self-catering stay, it’s a place to chat over cooking with a glass in hand.

Upstairs, two bedrooms – each configureable as a double or twin – are decorated in soft neutrals and warm tones. Comfortable, calm and easy to relax into.

Outdoor Living

Your private enclosed garden comes with outdoor furniture, sun loungers and a BBQ fire pit – good for long evenings, slow afternoons and toasting the marshmallows in your complimentary welcome pack. Look up and you’ll often catch birds of prey drifting low over the fields.

Guests also have access to the shared games room just next door, complete with table tennis, pool table and foosball.

Food at Harrier’s Nest

The kitchen has everything you need for a proper self-catering stay. For those times when cooking feels like one thing too many, our Harty Estate chefs can take care of it. We can deliver brunch platters, grazing tables and hearty traybakes made with estate produce, farm beef and the best ingredients Kent has to offer, straight to your door.

We also run a select number of pop-up dining occasions at The Harty Estate through the year – take a look to see if one coincides with your visit.

Dog Friendly

Harrier’s Nest welcomes dogs, with an enclosed garden and a doggy welcome pack waiting on arrival. The estate’s two-acre exercise field – fully fenced, with agility equipment – is pre-bookable and free for all cottage guests to use.

Location

Step outside and the countryside is immediately yours. Harty is a quietly special part of Kent –  wide skies, coastal meadows and nature reserves, and very little noise or light polution.

The Isle of Harty Trail, the Kent Coastal Path, the Swale Nature Reserve and the beaches at Leysdown and Shellness are all close by. Wider Kent is easily reached for those who want to venture further.

Part of Something Bigger

Harrier’s Nest is one of five cottages at Mocketts Farm, set within The Harty Estate – a working estate that also hosts weddings, private celebrations and corporate retreats. Book one cottage, a few together, or take over the whole farm for something really special.
