Waterside Wedding Receptions

Spring Barn

A space as spectacular as your wedding deserves. Make a grand entrance to your wedding breakfast through a glass walkway into the soaring oak-framed room. In the warmer months, the large feature windows can be folded back completely, opening the barn up to the outside and the magnificent estuary views beyond.

The in-room bar and lounge keep all your guests together, while the dance floor does the rest. Outside, the festoon-lit courtyard with its fire feature is the perfect spot to spill out into as the evening gets going.
Spring Barn seats up to 260 for your wedding breakfast, with up to 350 for the evening party.

Hop Barn

The Hop Barn is a beautiful, characterful room - relaxed and country-chic, with glimpses of the estuary peeking in. Step through the French doors onto the waterside terrace, where you'll find the Rose Garden and, if you fancy it, a firepit to gather around as the evening gets going.

The space also flows naturally into a welcoming lounge and the estate's 16th-century private pub, full of period character and glowing fires in the winter.

The Hop Barn welcomes 15 to 70 guests for your wedding breakfast, and up to 130 for the evening party.

Private Country Pub

Relaxed and intimate wedding celebrations can be held in the estate’s 16th-century private pub. It can host 20 guests for a seated wedding breakfast, or up to 50 for a relaxed, grazing-style meal.

Full of period character, with exposed beams, Kent hops and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it's especially magical in winter with the fires blazing. It’s the perfect setting for couples who love a relaxed, quirky wedding vibe and the charm of a historic pub.

Wedding Drinks Reception

private pub & waterside terrace

At the heart of your drinks reception is the estate’s 16th-century private pub, full of heritage, character and a warm, sociable vibe. Drinks can be served indoors from a welcoming fireside table, or outdoors from a waterside vintage drinks cart, setting the tone for easy, relaxed mingling.

Imagine music drifting between inside and out – perhaps with live performers – while guests wander into the Rose Garden. Here, vintage lawn games add a playful touch to the afternoon, or if you’re leaning into a more rustic look, hay bale seating can be arranged to complete the scene.

With views stretching across the meadows and estuary, the atmosphere is warm and unhurried – a lovely bridge between ceremony and celebration.

Getting Aisle Ready

Two beautiful PREPARATION ROOMS

The morning of your wedding should feel as special as the day itself. At The Harty Estate, each of you has your own beautiful space to get ready in, with your wedding party around you – add a brunch platter and bubbles and the celebrations have already begun.

The Garden Lodge

The Garden Lodge sits in a relaxed corner of the estate, on the edge of the Kitchen Garden. It’s a peaceful, private space, tucked away from the rest of the venue so you won’t be seen until you’re ready to make your entrance.

The perfect place to settle the nerves and start the fun.

Inside, there’s a lounge area, three illuminated hair and makeup stations, a hair washing chair, a beautiful dressing area and a private terrace. Handcrafted and beautifully finished, it has a striking aesthetic that makes it a wonderful place to spend your wedding morning.

The Courtyard Lounge

The Courtyard Lounge sits at the back of Spring Barn, opening onto its lovely courtyard. Warm and relaxed, beautifully finished in blush tones with its own intimate character – everything you need close at hand.

The room includes handcrafted hair and makeup stations, a VIP station, hair washing sink, dressing area and lounge, with a private wet room and accessible WC just next door. Indoor routes connect directly to the ceremony spaces, so when the moment comes, you’re ready.
