Dog Friendly Weddings

Dogs at Weddings & Events

Of course you want all your loved ones at your wedding – four-legged besties included. Well-behaved dogs of our couples are often present at their celebration, and some are even ring bearers. It always makes for very cute photos.

All of our Mocketts Farm Cottages are dog friendly, as are Guest Rooms 7–10, so your dog can be close by throughout. However, dogs cannot be left unattended in any accommodation at any time, and regrettably, guests cannot bring their own dogs to your wedding or event.

We also have a trusted local dog sitting service we can recommend.

Bookings can be made via email or online. Please note that bookings remain provisional and may be cancelled by us at any time until payment has been received in full. Bookings are not transferable to any other person without our prior permission.

Bookings can only be cancelled if we receive your cancellation request more than 24 hours prior to your booked slot – within this timeframe you will receive a full refund. No refunds will be given for no shows, and there is no extension for late arrivals.

Rules for using the dog field

A maximum of two adults per booking. Please do not enter the field until all previous users have left and the gate is closed. Please leave promptly at the end of your session so as not to encroach on the next booking.

Dogs must be put on a lead before exiting the field. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Please clean up after your dog and place any waste in the bins provided or take it home with you. All other waste must also be taken away with you. No open fires, portable or disposable BBQs are permitted in the field. Smoking is not permitted. No alterations to the land are permitted during your hire period.

Please carry out a check of the fencing and gates before each session. If you have any concerns, contact us immediately using the emergency number provided in your booking confirmation. Do not let your dog off the lead if you are not satisfied the field is secure.

During your hire period, we and our employees, officers, agents and contractors reserve the right to access the dog field at any time. Your booking does not create any proprietary rights over the field, and we maintain control and possession of the premises at all times.

We strongly advise all users to ensure their dog is insured for third party liability for the duration of their hire period.

We reserve the right to ban any users who break the rules of their booking.

Kennel cough

Kennel cough is most common in areas where dogs gather and can survive in the environment for several weeks, spreading through direct contact, the air and on surfaces. Please do not bring your dog to the field if they are showing any of the following symptoms: a dry hacking cough, sneezing, nasal discharge or mild fever.

All dogs must have completed their first vaccination course and be up to date with wormer treatment. We reserve the right to ask for supporting evidence and to refuse access if these conditions cannot be met.

Health and behaviour

Please notify us in advance of any aggressive, potentially dangerous or health concerns relating to your dog. We reserve the right to cancel a booking or terminate an agreement with immediate effect if we deem any dog unsuitable due to behaviour or health.

XL Bullies and controlled breeds

In line with government guidance, the following rules apply to XL Bullies and other controlled breeds using the dog field:

XL Bullies must have a 1:1 dog to handler ratio at all times. If dogs from different households are present, any XL Bully must remain muzzled and on a lead with their handler.

XL Bullies must be neutered, microchipped and registered with the Index of Exempted Dogs (IED). Owners must provide email evidence of neutering and microchipping, and must hold valid third party liability insurance, a copy of which must be emailed to us before the first visit.

Upon entry and exit, a muzzle must be worn. It may only be removed once all gates are securely closed and must be reinstated before opening the gates to depart.

Sessions for XL Bullies are 45 minutes in length to ensure no contact with other users.

Owners of XL Bullies must closely supervise their dogs at all times and ensure all gates are securely closed and locked during their session.
