Estate Private Dining

When the occasion calls for more

When the occasion matters, the setting does too. Private dining at The Harty Estate means a waterside estate in Kent, food grown and raised on the land around you and three characterful spaces for groups of 15 to 350 guests.

The Dining Spaces

Hop Barn

The Hop Barn feels special the moment you walk in, with its exposed brick, oak beams strung with fairy lights and hops, and estuary views from the French doors. Available for 15 to 70 guests for seated dining, or up to 130 for a relaxed grazing occasion.

For groups who want to make more of the evening, the Hop Barn adjoins the estate's 16th-century private pub. Period features, toasty fires and the kind of lively, characterful atmosphere that keeps a good evening going. When the night calls for it, the whole group can spill out onto the waterside terrace.

Spring Barn

You won't easily find another private dining space like Spring Barn. It's a spectacular for a large group, with an intricate oak frame, cathedral-like ceiling, custom lighting and retractable feature windows looking out over the estuary. It suits groups of 40 to 260 for seated dining, or up to 350 for relaxed, sociable grazing.

Inside, there's an in-room bar, lounge and dancefloor option - everything you need to move from dinner to celebration. The festoon-lit courtyard with feature fireplace sits just outside, coming into its own as the sun goes down.

Private Country Pub

For more intimate private dining, the estate's 16th-century private pub seats up to 22 guests for a sit-down dinner or 50 for relaxed grazing. The soul of a proper pub and the character to make any occasion feel special, with a waterside terrace just outside.

The Food + Drink

Our private dining menus are created from estate produce – fresh from the Kitchen Garden, grass-grazed beef from the family farm, wild game from the estate and the best of Kent’s suppliers.

For seated dining, our award-winning chefs put together a seasonal three-course set menu. For something more relaxed, the estate does sharing and grazing beautifully, with grazing tables, a Kentish hog roast and build-your-own fajitas among your many options.

Drinks are served from well-stocked bars, with Kentish wines, beers and spirits, alongside Kitchen Garden cocktails and mocktails made with herbs and botanicals grown steps from the table.

Stay The Night

Make a proper night of it. With 11 guest rooms and five cottages sleeping up to 75 guests, the evening doesn’t have to end when the bar closes. Breakfast on the estate the following morning is a great way to round off a special private dining visit.
